My name is Nick McNeish. I am an artist, graphic designer, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Graphics/Digital Arts. Art has been a part of my life since childhood. First starting with doodling my Pokemon Cards (which were all the rage in the late 90’s, early 00’s), and my love for art took off. My skill set and abilities evolved as I have aged; working in different styles such as Photorealism, to working from traditional materials to digital design and tablets. Even painting with Hummus. Though my real muse is applying meaning to my work. Making something visually appealing as well as have a meaning or symbolism holds endless appeal to me, no matter what the work may be.
Wanting to continue with the ever-growing technological pace of our world, my school and college career took me to the degree of Computer Graphics and Digital Arts (i.e., Graphic Design) and graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Starting as a self-taught traditional artist, working in more digital mediums was an interesting change. I worked in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Maya, Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML and CSS, and with technologies such as Wacom Tablets, 3D Printers, virtually reality such as the Oculus Rift, and many others.
My personal art has also continued to grow throughout the years. I have had success selling work on sites such as Redbubble and TeePublic, and also am a published artist. One of my pieces was purchased by the TV Network AMC for their world-renown show, The Walking Dead, to be sold in their stores as a Five Month Exclusive piece on t-shirts, bags, canvas, and posters.
During my College Career, I also worked as a Social Media Intern for the design company, GYK Antler in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts. I gained a very interesting perspective as to how modern day advertisements work through social media, and how they are created. I worked with various clients, such as Moxie Soda, New Hampshire Lottery, Breville, Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ, and Cedar’s.
